If you build it, they will come.”  This line from the film Field of Dreams, describes the power of intension and possibility and the course taken by the Main St Community Theater.

Lindenwood's president Spellman’s dream was to see the historical high school auditorium on West Main restored to its original glory.  This dream was realized thru the intentions of the community and a generous gift from the Kern Foundation.

Dr. Charles DuMontier’s dream was to write the all American Musical and see it performed on stage.  This dream was made possible with the support of many friends and family members whose critiques and encouragement brought Belleville’s first ever world premier The Oregon Trail, the Musical to fruition in 2006.

It was Janet Kuehn’s dream of starting a Community Theater Company that was realized when all three dreams were brought together thanks to Mike Wenzel, Ransom Wuller, Dede Farquhar, Patty Gregory, Janet Kuehn and Kathleen DuMontier who formed Main St Community Theater.  In cooperation with Lindenwood University executives Dr. Larry Doyle, and Mary Radcliff, a place was provided,
